A Toast to Ballston-Virginia Square
October 20, 2008
The 2008 A Toast to Ballston - Virginia Square successfully raised over $7,500 for Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), a vital organization that helps supply food for families in need. Over 200 people gathered in the galleries of the Arlington Arts Center for the 3rd annual A Toast to Ballston – Virginia Square where they sampled international cuisines prepared by the area’s premier restaurants and drinks provided by local wine and beer distributors.
The theme of the 2008 Toast was “Take a Bite Out of Hunger” reflecting the increasing challenge faced by AFAC.
The honorary chair for the event was J.C. Hayward, noon anchor of WUSA-9 and the champion for dvmOurTime.com. The event was chaired by Jay Palermino of Willow restaurant.
